Punditry StaffWithin the context of the Israel-Hamas war, which has become a magnet to attract anti-US and anti-Zionist forces, one can notice that there is a new global order rising. Experts are witnessing this phenomenon with the rise of the BRICS alliance as an alternative to American hegemony; and one can also see it, on a micro level, in Spain recently recognizing the State of Palestine, in defiance of Brussels. Such is quite a departure from European traditional politics.
The United States support for Israel as the country makes a mockery out of international law, the same one the US brandishes against its enemies, has become too intolerable for the rest of the world to watch. Biden, for whatever left of his sanity, has accelerated that process exponentially the moment he handed lethal weapons to an angry Israeli government who used them on women and children indiscriminately. This was not Biden’s brightest move, nor will it be his last.
The extermination of Hamas should not come at such a high price, especially when history taught us that its replacement might fare far worse.
In short, BRICS+ is a vehicle to create more access and equality, in addition to less polarization, between the northern and the southern hemispheres.
BRICS+ CHALLENGE
One can summarize BRICS+ key objectives as addressing the following goals:
- Economic Cooperation: BRICS aims to enhance economic cooperation among its member countries, which includes promoting trade, investment, and economic growth through various mechanisms and initiatives.
- Development: BRICS countries often emphasize the importance of sustainable development, poverty reduction, and inclusive growth. They work together on projects and policies to address common developmental challenges.
- Global Governance Reform: BRICS advocates for a more inclusive and equitable global governance structure, which translates into the reforming of international financial institutions such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank to better reflect the changing global economic landscape.
- Political Dialogue: BRICS provides a platform for political dialogue and cooperation among its members. The countries regularly discuss issues of mutual interest, share perspectives on global affairs, and coordinate their positions on various international forums.
- Cultural and People-to-People Exchanges: BRICS supports cultural exchanges and people-to-people contacts to foster better understanding and collaboration among its diverse member nations.
- Technology and Innovation Cooperation: BRICS countries recognize the importance of technology and innovation for economic development. They aim to cooperate in areas such as science, technology, and innovation to foster growth and competitiveness.
- Promotion of Multilateralism: BRICS promotes a multipolar world and advocates for a more inclusive and representative multilateral system. The group seeks to strengthen the role of international institutions in addressing global challenges.
A NEW GLOBAL ORDER IS RISING
In short, BRICS+ is a vehicle to create more access and equality, in addition to less polarization, between the northern and the southern hemispheres. Something that western civilizations have failed to accomplish as they flaunt democracy over autocracy instead of equality over concentration of wealth and resources.
Israel represents two opposing and polarizing worlds. On one hand, its existence corrects a historical wrong against the Jewish people, but buried deep within its creation rests the flawed element of land grabbing, people displacement, and mass murder. Those two factors also created the United States of America.
BRICS+ countries are trying to address this global fault line, mostly attributed to western democracies, by creating a better global governance position more based on equality than democracy or charity. How does Russia, a BRICS country, which also invaded Ukraine, figure in this context? Remember that the Russian excuse for its invasion was to stop NATO from encroaching too close to its territorial integrity. It justifies the BRICS+ new world order rising as, in essence, Russia’s defensive posture represents a spark for BRICS+ countries.
Because of Israel, America is not as interested in freedom as much as it is interested in its old tricks of conquering peoples and their cultural heritages.
COLONIZATION HIDING UNDER THE SKIN OF FREEDOM
However, nothing is undermining the United States globally than its call for democracy and the respect of international laws when, simultaneously, it ignores the slow demise of Israeli democracy and the scorn the country has demonstrated towards international law. Effectively, the Israel-Hamas war shows the American world order is defective and broken.
In the eyes of BRICS+ countries, the stars’ realignment in favor of equal treatment can best be demonstrated through the prism of what is happening in the Middle East today. The Israeli war on Gaza is showing the world the necessity for an alternative global course of action, and this is why a new global order is rising in lieu of American dominance and supremacy failing weaker nations.
Israeli aggression and oppression of the Palestinian people, based on a similarly taken course by the United States, is proof enough, as far as BRICS+ countries are concerned, that under the skin of American democracy hides colonizationist tendencies. Because of Israel, America is not as interested in freedom as much as it is interested in its old tricks of conquering peoples and their cultural heritages. Just as Israel is doing today with full support by America’s democracy.
We believe the Israel-Hamas war may end up symbolizing a modern day assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. An event that changed the course of history, in addition to Europe’s map and alliances, forever.
BIDEN ALWAYS REGRETS LATER
Biden, unfortunately, did not add the component of BRICS+ rise on the global stage when he constructed the Israeli defensive policy by arming Israel to the teeth. Therefore, justifying the same modicum of behavior other countries are attempting to circumvent as many suffer the American strong-arm tactics, or alternatively America’s generous aid to keep the countries in line and obedient.
We believe the Israel-Hamas war may end up symbolizing a modern day assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. An event that changed the course of history, in addition to Europe’s map and alliances, forever.
It may yet usher the rise of a new global order more based on economic parity and equality than land grabbing and ethnic cleansing the American order is representing today in Israel..
Meanwhile, Biden has yet to figure out his role in the imminent rise of BRICS+ to dislodge America’s power on the world stage. The old man’s snooze has no end to it, as he always seems to regret his decisions once he awakens.
