Punditry StaffThe United States has defeated al-Qaeda and ISIS because the Arab regimes saw them as a threat. And so did most of the Arab street, who saw in their violence against other Muslims a future with a dead end. Not so with Hamas and Hezbollah. Both fighting Israel that the Arab street supports. America can no longer afford to prolong Israeli oppression of the Palestinians because Russia, China, and Iran (the trio) are waiting in the wings to bounce at the right opportune moment. This is why if the United States continues to neglect pursuing peace, it will come back to haunt its interests in the region.
Forget normalizing relations with Saudi Arabia. If the Biden Administration, or any other future administrations, let the Israeli and the Palestinian enmity fester, it will open the door wide open for the trio to dislodge the United States from the region. Slowly, by gaining the support of the majority of the Arab nations and their people because they have a more balanced foreign policy imperative.
America can no longer afford to prolong or ignore Israeli inhumane subjugation of the Palestinians. We must find a way to build peace on the ruins of Gaza.
ISRAELI OPPRESSION INVITES US ENEMIES
If any of the major Arab countries strike peace with Iran because of Arab street unrest, and begin extending Chinese influence at the expense of the United States, Israel would become a victim of regional superpower rivalry. Israeli influence in Congress would then amount to a poison pill.
The Palestinian question must be put to bed to keep the influence of China, Russia, and Iran under control because Israeli oppression opens the door wide open for either to dislodge the U.S. from the Middle East.
It is true that US military power is a deterrence. But that power would diminish considerably, or become nullified, if China builds their own military bases to protect Arab oil. The notion that we can protect that oil and the regimes, while letting the Israeli oppression continue, is oxymoronic. One, or the other, must give in, and since American support for Israel is immovable, the Gaza war and Israeli apartheid is just pushing Arab countries towards our enemies. The world is going to feel that accentuation after the Gaza war ends.
America can no longer afford to prolong or ignore Israeli inhumane subjugation of the Palestinians. We must find a way to build peace on the ruins of Gaza. It starts by reigning in the Israeli fundamentalist settlers, whose behavior against Palestinians mirror the Taliban behavior against women.
They are both religious extremists groups hiding behind their God to oppress and mistreat.
