American Democracy Comes Second to White Power and Money

Look at the history of our country. From the day the Pilgrims settled in the Plymouth Colony to today’s old white men in the Republican Party. While the veneer of our country looks like a functioning democracy, below the surface two forces drive this nation. White power and mower. The American democracy comes second to white power and money, which are the pillars upon which stand not only our justice system, but our two-party system.

A real democracy is about choice, not limitation of choices. It’s about equality under the law, not buying the law to serve one’s self-interests. In America, one can have 50 different flavors of coffee, but only two political parties to choose from. Why? Because it’s easier for money and power to subvert just two political parties. Beyond that, it becomes unmanageable.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has been a Senator for 40 years. That’s a monarchy, folks. History books are full of names of kings who have ruled far less than Chuck Grassley has.

WHY NOT EMULATING ISRAEL?

If you want to experience a near true democracy, look no further than the country of Israel. Its multi-party system permits everyone to participate in governing the country. Our winner-takes-all system always rewards half the country the right to function while the other half suffers opposing laws and policies that often the next party tries to reverse.

When President Biden became President, he reversed all of Trump’s Executive Orders.  What a waste of time turning around in a gerbil wheel.

The pluralistic aspects of a democratic rule are non-existent in America. Especially when one group of people pass laws to make it difficult for another group of people to vote. How is that a democracy? It is not because America was never about democracy, rather it is about white power and money.

Example: Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has been a Senator for 40 years. That’s a monarchy, folks. History books are full of names of kings who have ruled far less than Chuck Grassley has. Like I said, American democracy comes second to white power and money.

They call it a democracy because it is convenient; but, in reality, we live in a hybrid system of both authoritarianism and the rule of law.

In 2020, our democracy, thanks to Donald Trump, has committed suicide. The suppression of our voting rights by old white men is its casket.

SUPPRESSION OF VOTING RIGHTS EXPOSES THE TRUTH

Nothing like the suppression of voting rights over the last year has exposed this truth. Because the number of African-Americans who voted in the 2020 elections superseded all expectations, white power and money is actively seeking to reverse the wheel of time at the expense of our democracy.

Besides the accelerated decline of the Caucasian race birth rates in America, which is driving its agenda to equalize the playing field by making sure less brown and black people vote, there is also the element that such erosion will eventually lead to an American landscape with more brown and black people. In other words, it’s self-defeating to restrict voting rights.

John Adams is quoted as saying:

Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet that did not commit suicide. John Adams - The Letters of John and Abigail Adams

In 2020, our democracy, thanks to Donald Trump, has committed suicide. The suppression of our voting rights by old white men — white supremacists — is its casket.

But not to worry. If we take into account lower white birth rates and a fast disappearing baby boomer generation, there is so little Republicans can do to stem the tide. Even through voting rights abuses.

Eventually, all the immigrants of our country will lead; not just the white immigrants.
