Since October 7, we have learned much about the global community’s position with regard to the Israel-Hamas war. First, we learned that Hamas, no matter its grievances against the Israeli occupying forces, the world is not going to side with its terror tactics. We also learned that American support for Israel hardly matters on the world stage, as country after country refutes Israeli violence against women and children. If some in Israel believed all they need is America on their side, they had a rude awakening. The increase in global antisemitism and the decrease in public support for Israeli actions is leading the government of Netanyahu to scramble to find alternative ways to conduct its foreign policy.

For a moment, Israel forgot it is a ruthless occupying power, the likes of which we witnessed during the era of the Soviet Union in Eastern Europe. As of this war, never would Israel be able to shed that image again now that it has attracted global attention and understanding of Hamas underlying reasons for its attack. The world may not like the means by which Hamas attacked, but now a couple of billion more people understand the reasons why. Something Israel worked hard to conceal.

How will Jewish American leaders respond to the new realities remains to be seen. However, we believe they will respond with sapience and wisdom to re-calibrate their influence to benefit all Jews across the globe, and not just the extremist Israelis ruling today and taking their country down an abyss.

We believe, soon, Netanyahu will have no choice but to resign.

Therefore, this global awakening to Israeli excesses will be good for both the U.S. and Israel.

WHY THE GLOBAL AWAKENING IS IMPORTANT

The United States, as many would tell you, is a country that speaks with two tongues. One for its allies, and one for its enemies. When it speaks of freedom for the Iranian people, it forgets to speak of the same for the Palestinian people. When it criticizes its enemies for breaking international laws, it conveniently neglects to remind Israel of the same.

This double-standard is not lost on the global community, which has become weary and tired of these American tactics. Israel, in reality, represents the epicenter of American hypocrisy. Often, the United States goes out of its way to secure its survival despite the fact that Israel, over the last 15 years, has become one of the worst countries when it comes to the protection of human rights.

Therefore, this global awakening to Israeli excesses will be good for both the U.S. and Israel. It might finally pivot the U.S. policy to adjust its course in search of real peace, and a solution to the Palestinian Cause. If President Biden does not see the writing on the wall, he should simply quit running for President because his blind support for Israeli inhuman occupation will only get us in murkier and more dangerous waters in the future.

That’s a tiger Biden better take by its tail by stopping the war in Gaza immediately to start the process of reversing the damage he and Netanyahu have caused.

IS THE U.S. EMPOWERING BRICS+?

And if the U.S. and Israel ignore the negative global public opinion, both cannot ignore China and its new drive to build an alternative world order under the BRICS+ banner. The Israel-Hamas war figures largely within the context of BRICS+ messaging and mission because it demonstrates the inequity in US foreign policy, favoring North American and European domination over world affairs.

In fact, we believe the Israel-Hamas war may yet drive many countries into China’s lap, which is why Biden’s mistake of total support for Israeli retaliatory and disproportionate violence will be his lasting legacy. Under his leadership, historians will note that Joe Biden empowered the rise of BRICS+ because of his policy towards Israel.

Be that as it may, time is running out on American support for Israel that is damaging to both countries. The time has come to make a policy correction. Tiptoeing around the problem, as Jake Sullivan did in his interview on “Meet the Press”, is anything but helpful.

That’s a tiger Biden better take by its tail by stopping the war in Gaza immediately to start the process of reversing the damage he and Netanyahu have caused. Let the people of Gaza, who suffered the most from the Hamas attack, take care of its terror.

In brief, as of October 7, the world is more aware of Palestinian grievances than at anytime in the past. Mostly because of Israeli brutal response and disregard for civilian human life.
