Anger Appeasement is Off Target

The Department of Justice’s anger appeasement is off target when it indicted only Senator Bob Menendez for bribery charges, which will help dispel the notion that President Biden has weaponized the DOJ against Republicans. Don’t misunderstand our stand on eradicating corruption in American politics, we praise the DOJ holding our corrupt politicians, any of them, accountable for their bad deeds. But if the purpose of the DOJ is to appease the anger of the American people, the one voting for Donald Trump, or the one that stormed the Capitol on January 6, the tactic will be of very little help.

Menendez’s crimes are not only inexcusable, but petty. The man sold his soul for so little. That is not a legacy you want to leave behind. Menendez claimed innocence in a statement. This is the second time in a decade the Senator had to respond to corruption charges.

Americans need to see real change in the way the government prosecutes people of power and influence, in which dark money buys politicians and Supreme Court justices.

Voters are hungry for accountability and control, through their votes, of their representatives. Across the board, to include reigning in the billionaires, like Charles Koch, who are the ones truly running this country. Everything an American voter does is cast a ballot for a legislator, which other people control.

This is far from a real democracy.

So, while we applaud the DOJ’s efforts, we shall remain skeptical as long as the billionaire class in this country keeps buying, sometimes legally, all three branches of our government.

A BAND-AID OF SORT

This indictment is a band-aid of sort. The American people are asking for the government to indict the billionaires who keep breaking our laws and go unpunished. After killing over 500,000 people with his OxyContin medication, billionaire Richard Sackler is NOT facing any jail time soon. After buying Justice Clarence Thomas with gifts for influence, billionaire Harlan Crow remains a threat to our democracy.

The American voters are asking for real and even accountability across the board. Not just the nabbing of one high-profiled politician for short-term political gains.

So, while we applaud the DOJ’s efforts, we shall remain skeptical as long as the billionaire class in this country keeps buying, sometimes legally, all three branches of our government. Undisturbed and unbothered.

Hey, DOJ, go after everyone breaking the law. Not just Trump and Menendez, but also the very rich who are buying our democracy.

MENENDEZ ALLEGED CRIMES ARE INEXCUSABLE

The Egyptian government has allegedly paid the Senator bribes in the form of gold bars, cash, mortgage payments, and a luxury car, in return for influence as the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Senate. The DOJ collected it all.

In addition to the Senator and his wife, three DOJ charged three other co-conspirators. These men are Will Hana, Jose Uribe, and Fred Daibes. If you google for information about all three, you will find enough about Uribe and Daibes. Photos and all. But the mysterious Will Hana is a ghost. No pictures and no information.

Hana is either an Arabic name, or an Israeli (i.e., Jewish) name. We wonder if this had to do with his anonymity. Eventually, someone is going to dig more information, or snap his picture. Unless, of course, the DOJ makes the effort to keep his personae concealed from the public, which it may be doing already.

Is Hana the mystery man listed as Associate-3 in the picture above? Why call him an associate and hide his image if he is not an informant? Is Will Hana his real name? What else does he do to see himself at the end of a DOJ indictment? Hana’s spokesperson, Steven Goldberg, believes the charges have “Absolutely no merit”.
