Apply the Lesson of GameStop to Save the GOP

As a responsible Republican voter, one cannot watch the insurrection and what preceded it, or the mindset of the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene, or the complicity of many GOP Representatives with White Supremacy, and think this is cool. To think this is America and this is our future. No Republican voter should accept the new identity of the party more in line with QAnon crazy conspirators than, let us say, fiscal responsibility. As a responsible Republican voter, you can fix the Republican Party by abandoning it. Apply the lesson of GameStop to save the Republican Party. Abandon it instead of buying into it. The message you send its leaders will be loud and clear.

According to The Hill, some 30,000 have already done so. That’s not nearly enough the numbers needed to convince Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy, and so many others to peel away from the toxic Donald Trump for good. As some are leaving, there are some who are joining.

This appeal is mostly for those sound of mind, and for those who can control their anger when it comes to the direction this country has taken over the last 40 years, which culminated in the literal decimation of the middle class. To believe in QAnon, it takes more than just the conspiracies. It takes a mindset burdened with no answers to basic questions, and disillusioned by hopelessness.

Which is more dangerous? A party led by the likes of Marjorie Greene, or a thinned party ready to engage its constituents using a healthy dose of policies and a platform to rally other Republicans around?

JOIN THE MOVEMENT

Republican Accountability Project (RAP) is “intended to offer political protection to GOP lawmakers who may be weighing impeachment but fear potential retribution from Trump and his supporters.” According to The Hill. RAP has committed $50 millions towards that effort.

While this is important to protect the brave Rep. Liz Cheney and others from Trump petty vindictiveness, a better project would be to ask Republicans to abandon the party until the day the GOP finds its compass. Only if few million Americans start abandoning the party to revolt against today’s status quo would the leadership start abandoning Donald Trump. There has to be a revolt within. Such a new movement, whether RAP sponsors it or others do, would positively impact the future of the party.

Understandably, it’s anathema to ask people to abandon their political affiliation. The danger of not returning to the fold is obvious, and no Republican movement would take that risk nonchalantly. To a certain degree, however, the sight of watching the future of the Republican Party evolve around the personae of Marjorie Taylor Greene should give any Republican a pose. Which is more dangerous? A party led by the likes of Marjorie Greene, or a thinned party ready to engage its constituents using a healthy dose of policies and a platform to rally other Republicans around? Hey Republicans, apply the lesson of GameStop to save the GOP.

True Republicans must work together to thin the herd in order to boost the party’s good DNA, and to save the specie by killing off the bad genes. It’s not an option anymore, but a necessity.

THIN THE HERD TO SAVE THE SPECIE

I can assure you this Donald Trump cult movement, which already led to an insurrection, might lead us to far worse places. Think a million Charles Manson leading an army of disgruntled and angry mob always ready to storm again the U.S. Government. Thinks no freedom of expression. Think armed militias patrolling your streets just like the Brown Shirts patrolled Germany in the 1930’s. Hitler called them Sturmabteilung, Trump calls them the Proud Boys.

In my honest opinion, the answer to Trump is to start a movement for good Republicans to abandon their party affiliation, on a temporary basis, to send the right signals. The way forward is to call on the solid and good Republicans to introduce the GameShop model to overwhelm Donald Trump and end his poison.

Tirelessly, true Republicans must work together to thin the herd in order to boost the party’s good DNA, and to save the specie by killing off the bad genes. It’s not an option anymore, but a necessity.

Millions of unhappy Republicans banding together to send Donald Trump the same message the GameStop investors on Reddit sent the Marvin Management Hedge Fund is the vaccine we need to inoculate the Republican Party from any future kidnappings. Millions abandoning the Party is the cure from Trumpism.
