Big Pharma and Fossil Fuel Companies Bought Manchin and Sinema

You all have heard about how obstinate Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema have been with regard to passing the $3.5 Trillion Build Back Better Bill that, for once, aims at helping the middle class gain its confidence in a U.S. Government too quick to support the corporate world, but too slow to stand by its people. Many articles have been written questioning the two Senators’ motivation, which remains a mystery. But when you check their travels and fund raising of late, it is not hard to see how big pharma and fossil fuel corporations bought Manchin and Sinema by pouring money into the campaign coffers of both Senators.

What kind of a democracy do we live under when two U.S. Senators can challenge the will of the majority of the American people, and corporations can buy these Senators openly and legally? This political corrupt model the U.S. Supreme Court legalized is not sustainable in the long run.

Wonder no more why socialism is creeping into American politics with the likes of Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Our capitalism has gone lawless in every sense of the word.

To oppose the Build Back better Bill, Big Pharma paid Sinema $750,000.

WHY BIG PHARMA AND FOSSIL FUEL

Two pillars of the $3.5 Trillion bill intend to lower drug prices for everyday Americans, which big pharmaceutical companies fear might eat into their already lawless profits, and climate funds to help companies and people transition into a fossil fuel-free world, which is harming our planet. Passing of the Bill will certainly harm the bottom line of companies like Exxon-Mobil and others.

This is why the Child Care element of the Bill might survive. It is one that no corporate entity is lobbying against. In fact, it helps corporate America because more women would enter the work force as the U.S. Government foots a big portion of that cost. However, because of Manchin and Sinema, you might as well kiss goodbye lower drug prices and investments in climate change. They were paid hefty sums of money to vote against those two pillars.

The top Senator to receive money from the Oil & Gas industry is Joe Manchin. Sinema is at the bottom of that list. However, to oppose the Build Back Better Bill, Big Pharma paid Sinema $750,000.

I assure you, there is a Pharma lobbyist out there thinking: What a bargain basement price Senator Sinema fetches for her vote.

BARGAIN BASEMENT PRICE

Igor Derysh writes for Salon:

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, the controversial Arizona Democrat who threatens to derail President Biden’s legislative agenda, received more than $750,000 in donations from the pharmaceutical and medical device industries. After that, she announced her opposition to a Democratic plan to lower prescription drug costs.Salon by Igor Derysh - September 23, 2021

To raise $750,000, Sinema turned her back not only on her constituents, but on tens of millions of Americans who would benefit from lower drug prices. The U.S. Government alone could save $49 Billion a year to its Medicare Plan B had not Sinema sold her soul for $750,000.

I assure you, there is a Pharma lobbyist out there thinking: What a bargain basement price Senator Sinema fetches for her vote.

Once again, corporate America protects its profits, by legally buying Congress, at the expense of the American people. It’s truly lawless capitalism.
