Each year, Time Magazine, America’s most venerable publication, could name a person for their notable, and often remarkable, influence on the country as “Person of the Year”. In that spirit, we believe Time should name Cassidy Hutchinson as Person of the Year for 2023. The impact Hutchinson had on revealing the deep corruption of Trump’s White House cannot be underestimated, nor should it.

As a witness for the January 6 Select Committee, Hutchinson was most effective not only in uncovering the ugly truth of Trump’s corruption, but doing it in a way that came across as sincere and trustworthy. This, in turn, helped the Select Committee write truthfully about that story in its final report. It also rendered a big service to the American public, which realized who Trump really was, as well as history to record the January 6 day of infamy with as much accuracy as possible. All thanks to Hutchinson’s testimony.

How could we ever have known that Mark Meadows burned White House papers if it was not for Hutchinson? We would all be in the dark without her testimony and her bravery under so much pressure. The kind that strong men succumb to, but not Hutchinson.

HONORING HIGH MORALS HONORS AMERICA

Should Time Magazine, and its editors, chose to honor Cassidy Hutchinson with their title as “Person of the Year” for 2023, they would render a big service to the country and to the future of our democracy. Naming her would really represent, symbolically, America’s silent, yet powerful, response to January 6.

Mind you, there will always be corruption in the government, yielding varying degrees of harm and damage. However, by honoring Hutchinson, Time Magazine would send the signal to all our present and future honorable civil servants that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Their rainbow of hope will always shine brighter than the corrupt and deceitful politicians taking advantage of their powers.

Do it, Time Magazine. Show America the fortitude of your wisdom by putting courage and honor on a pedestal to remind our future generations how precious morality could be.

REPUBLICAN WOMEN SWITCHING SIDES

Furthermore, to honor a Republican woman who confronted Donald Trump would be an empowering message to all women voters. Who can deny that in 2024, America needs their support to save us from ourselves. We require their valor and dauntlessness to help fend off the enemies from within.

The least we, and Time Magazine, can do is to honor Cassidy Hutchinson by bestowing upon her a distinction to reward all whistleblowers. And all the courageous people who serve in the government.

Do it, Time Magazine. Show America the fortitude of your wisdom by putting courage and honor on a pedestal to remind our future generations how precious morality could be.

Without such demonstrative and iconic expression, the next Donald Trump is waiting to spring their corruption on the country. One image on one cover is all it takes to play a small part in our attempts at eradicating political corruption. The one the country is desperate to witness.

So, yes. Cassidy Hutchinson as Person of the Year. Pronto, and without delay, please. You know we are right, Sam Jacobs and Edward Felsenthal. We know you understand how significant a step your decision might mean for the country.
