Centrism is the Answer to Our Political Troubles

There is no doubt that the American political landscape has changed dramatically ever since voters chose Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton in 2016. The level of extremism, on both sides of the needle, be it extreme leftist policies, or extreme alt-right policies, is endangering the future of our Union, which we can abet only if we believe centrism is the answer to our political troubles. Anyone ignoring the new twilight zone the country has entered is blind to the catastrophic results that may ensue.

From a Supreme Court in a bubble, to fanatic white supremacists in Congress, or to a White House that remains within the reach of the most extremist U.S. President we had in modern times, all indicate that we have lost our compass.

In short, the United States has become a country to avoid emulating politically at all costs, especially with the culture wars the far right is activating to introduce white angry fascism into the political equation.

We cannot let this happen. Nor can we let far leftist propositions kill the incubating brilliance of the American drive towards individual success.

Medicare for all and free higher education are centrist policies, not communism or socialism.

CENTRISM IS THE ANSWER

At Punditry, we don’t consider Medicare for all or free higher education to be unreasonable, or leftist concepts. Every modern industrial nation around the globe provides such benefits to its citizenry, thus bypassing the notion that money comes before people all the times and on every occasion.

Is Canada a communist country? Is Germany a Marxist nation? Just don’t believe the far-right labelling because its purpose is to scare people. Yes, the medicare for all may impact Pharma and healthcare industries in general by decreasing their profits, but it will also stop people from dying unnecessarily when they cannot afford our high-priced healthcare system, or filing for bankruptcies because of their inability to pay their medical bills.

Medicare for all and free higher education are centrist policies, not communism or socialism.

DeSantis, at the age of 44, has already sealed his political fate.

NEW WAVES OF CULTURE WARS

As for the new wave of culture wars the likes of Ron DeSantis is waging against black history, gender rights, gun control, freedom of movement of migrants, freedom of speech of corporations, and women’s rights that have been taken away from them by a non-representative U.S. Supreme Court, this temporary hatred will eventually blow in the face of those who spark it. All one has to do is wait it out if you see the future of demographics in the U.S.

DeSantis, at the age of 44, has already sealed his political fate. He is an extremist, and all the accolades he is experiencing today from a narrow sliver of Americans is not archetypical of the political positions of the majority of voters in a national election. DeSantis truly believes he could ram down our throat his radical ideology through fear and intimidation, or he is as misinformed as any bad politician living in a bubble can be.

What’s the DNC’s answer to Leonard Leo and his $1.6B budget to install more conservative Supreme Court Justices, for example?

THE DNC SHOULD CONCERN US

The work of the Democratic National Committee should concern us of late. Besides its inability to see George Santos coming our way, it is letting the RNC run circles around it. As an example, the republicans have spent $135m vilifying President Biden and the DNC spend a fraction of that money to defend him. The result is that the President’s approval has suffered considerably.

There is something wrong about the strategy and direction of the DNC. It is not lack of money, but rather lack of good judgment and vision.

As the extremists ramp up their attack on the President and our liberties, the DNC finds itself spinning aimlessly in search of traction. Grant you that the DNC’s political support of Democrats usually yield positive results, but its core mission should be to also support the President and his agenda, instead of just hoping the mainstream media can do the DNC’s job for free.

The DNC needs a Dracula at its helms. Ruthless, and a bloodsucking predator who can push for centrism in this sea of fanaticism and radical culture wars. What’s the DNC’s answer to Leonard Leo and his $1.6B budget to install more conservative Supreme Court Justices, for example?

No one knows if there is any.
