Punditry StaffDecent but ineffectual describe the Democrats in power today. From Attorney General Merrick Garland whose Houdini’s act makes him the most absent A.G. in memory, to Senator Chuck Schumer who cannot find the courage to tackle the “gift” of assault weapon ban. From Chief of Staff Ron Klain who seems to be chasing his own tail to his boss President Joe Biden who seems incapable of making quick decisions. And from National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan whose job has become the Ukraine-Weapon-Blocker-in-Chief to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken who had the worst American exit from any country.
All of these politicians share one thread in common. They are all decent human beings who boast an abundance of empathy; but who also believe in compromise and bipartisanship when the vampiracal GOP is out for their blood.
In return, the ultra-conservative Republicans are sucking their blood with total abandon and delight.
How can Americans, who feel trapped by the GOP policies in general, right this wrong? Their leaders are roving sheep and their enemies are predator wolves. The answer lies in our votes. Democrats must select candidates who can stand-up to the GOP’s bullying.
Americans must pressure the Democratic Party to select an alpha-male candidate.
KNOCK, KNOCK
In a scathing article, Molly Jong-Fast of the Atlantic wrote the following to describe the apathy of the Democratic Party in the face of a Republican all-out assault on our laws.
In the world of the Republican Party, some of its platform agenda has become quite clear. One that minces no words or action, and one which declares openly that money and power trump children’s lives and our democracy.
Their next move? Turn schools into army barracks. Yet, here stands President Biden making speeches instead of twisting arms and breaking necks. Where is Lyndon Johnson?
Apparently, the DNC is quietly looking for a Biden alternative in 2024. In doing so, Americans must pressure the Democratic Party to select an alpha-male candidate. This country needs someone who is able to repel those who are savagely, and in a coordinated fashion, assaulting our democracy to install an authoritarian all-white rule. Preferably, all White Anglo-Saxon Protestants.

COUNT THE WAYS THE GOP IS TERRORIZING AMERICANS
From refusing to ban assault weapons to spreading lies about election results, or in the case of Donald Trump, trying to overturn the elections, it is crystal clear to most Americans that the GOP’s priorities are not the same as the majority of Americans. Yet, the Party keeps ramming their racist and authoritarian policies down our throat with no end in sight and no accountability.
None by a feckless democratic leadership ill-equipped to confront the big bad wolves.
Mind you, instead of facing this challenge with determination, all we see is weak Democrats trying to explain away their weaknesses.
How is that possible in a real democracy? How is it possible that a minority of old white men are able to control the larger diverse majority? Most of whom are liberal urban and suburban households. Apparently, in filibuster-ruled America, it happens. Apparently, it can. Even if totally out of power.
