Did the Insurrectionists Learn Their Lessons?

Did the Insurrectionists Learn Their Lessons

Almost two years into the January 6 insurrection, when one looks upon who and who was not held accountable for the attempted coup against our democracy, one cannot but ponder and ask the question: Did the insurrectionists learn their lessons? Will the foot soldiers who stormed The Capitol organize secretly to take another shot at a later time? Some are spending no time in prison. Will all those Donald Trump threw under the bus for his own self-preservation turn into an example of bad faith in the exercise of power? Furthermore, will Trumps’ lawyers become more selective.

Or, will the likes of Sydney Powell and Rudy Giuliani spending their wealth to defend against civil lawsuits return to their scenes of crimes the second chance they get?

In brief, who will act again and who will not? Starting with the con man himself Donald Trump.

To fully answer that question, we must wait for not only the January 6 Committee final report, but also for the Department of Justice to finalize its multiple investigations into the criminal activities of Trump and all those who orbit him.

Some believe America will never see Trump land in jail because he was a former President. However, to those who run our government and all our civil servants, they all know that not holding Trump accountable would invite him or someone else to attempt another coup later. Even if we have strengthened our laws to prevent such an outcome.

Others like John Eastman and Mark Meadows have yet to start paying for their crimes.

TRUMP’S ORBIT

Besides, Trump, one of the most dangerous man in America today is none other than Steve Bannon. Even though he was under investigation, he was already planning the stealing of the next election by assembling the names of 20,000 Trump loyalists, should he come back to power, Trump can appoint in key positions to steal the next election. Bannon was not even trying to hide his deeds, which goes to show the world how Trumpists think of our laws.

Since then, however, the world also saw Steve Bannon taken in handcuffs to answer for his crimes. We hope the upcoming verdict by the court would throw him in jail for a long time. This is a White Supremacist who will repeat his crimes without any remorse.

As for Sidney Powell and her cohort Rudy Giuliani, both are defending against a very expensive lawsuit that Dominion Voting Systems has filed. As of today, the lawsuit continues even though a hoax that went viral claimed that both lawyers won against Dominion. This lawsuit is important to block future Trumpists from making false claims that could get them in deep trouble. Nothing like paying out of pocket to stop people from acting insanely.

Others like John Eastman and Mark Meadows have yet to start paying for their crimes. The DOJ has yet to announce the results of its investigation surrounding the illegal activities of both men.

We are of the belief all the people in Trump’s orbit will pay dearly. Should the government fail to indict Trump for the attempt at overturning an election, holding his acolytes accountable will make every person think twice about carrying out Trump’s orders in the future.

As for the high quality lawyers willing to defend the former President, that universe is shrinking faster than Egyptian cotton soaked in hot water.

WHAT ABOUT THE FUNDERS BEHIND THE INSURRECTION?

The last January 6 committee’s panel will attempt to uncover those who funded the Insurrection. We already have two names worth mentioning in Alex Jones and Julie Jenkins Fancelli that The Wall Street Journal identified in one of their articles.

We also know that Kimberly Guilfoyle, Trump Junior’s girlfriend, bragged about how much money she raised for January 6 insurrection. Smart, she is not. Indictable, she is. We hope.

Who did she raise money from remains a mystery. We just have to wait for the January 6 Committee to tell us. The fact that Rep. Adam Schiff suggested that any January 6 Committee DOJ referral of Trump must be unanimous leads one to believe there may be internal infighting. We hope this does not impact disclosing publicly the names of all those who funded the insurrection. No American should accept the politicization of the January 6 findings. The truth and only the truth.

Did the insurrectionists learn their lessons? Some surely have. Others, like Donald Trump and Steve Bannon would have to die for the country to breath a sigh of relief. As for the high quality lawyers willing to defend the former President, that universe is shrinking faster than Egyptian cotton soaked in hot water.

For our safety and security in this beautiful country of ours, let us not just hope. Let us act to stop Trumpism in its tracks.
