Do Not Confuse Extremist Zionists With Reasonable Jewish Voices

If you happen to stumble on some peaceful Jewish organizations fighting the Zionist movement in Israel, like Jewish Voice for Peace or many others around the world, you will come to the same conclusion as we did. Do not confuse extremist Zionists with reasonable Jewish voices, or someone’s Jewishness as the basis to demonize their faith, because many Jews around the world disapprove of Netanyahu and his terror against killing civilians. They want nothing to do with what Israel is doing to the Palestinians, and in fact, some are fighting for Palestinian rights for freedom from a terrorizing occupation.

The world should applaud such, and this is another reason not to embrace antisemitism as a blanket for hate. We cannot hate those who are of the same mindset, regardless of what religion they embrace.

Reasonable Jewish voices are as auspicious as Muslim, or Christian reasonable voices. Their reasonableness transcends the chaotic religious wars, knowing no boundaries, playing before us with all their malevolent impressions.

TOO MUCH INFORMATION

As the famous Italian writer Umberto Eco said, “Information can damage knowledge, like nowadays, with mass media and Internet, because it is too much. Too many things together produce noise, and noise is not a tool of knowledge”.

We should not let the noise permeating across too much information damage our basic knowledge of our own humanity. Such as distilling hate to produce violence and death. Or, propagating antisemitism universally to harm those whose humanity is as committed to good as ours is. Reasonable Jewish voices are as auspicious as Muslim, or Christian reasonable voices. Their reasonableness transcends the chaotic religious boundaries playing before us with all their malevolent impressions.

Reasonableness transforms barbarity into how history would view a civilization. Violence, on the other hand, creates either glorious passages of time that are always subject to alternative interpretation, or dreary outcomes never to be reformed historically-speaking. Who is going to ever question Gandi’s benevolent existence sits alone in the field of nothingness after straddling the fence of unworthiness. We know more about Marcus Aurelius because of his meditative philosophy than the defensive wars he waged.

Let us NOT use the violence of Netanyahu as an excuse to spread antisemitism. It’s degrading to our own perception of decency.

THE REAL SMART JEWS

On the other hand, the world would remember Benjamin Netanyahu, as the man who illegitimately murdered his way to a larger Israel, universally unaccepted. What do we think of Nazi Germany today, which is as universally unaccepted as Israel is fast becoming? As for US support for Israel, it is a passing moment in human history. The real smart Jews understand this context within the values and durability of their Jewishness.

With that same breath, we all must praise reasonable Jewish voices, and condemn religious extremism. Be it Hamas extremism, or the Netanyahu extremism. They are just passages in time that history would footnote to highlight their negative impact on our human existence.

Let us NOT use the violence of Netanyahu as an excuse to spread antisemitism. It’s degrading to our own perception of decency.
