The truth will set you free. And one truth is coming out faster than we all anticipated in the reality that the GOP will never back DeSantis over Trump for the simple reason that DeSantis, more and more, is demonstrating that he is not presidential material. The mistakes he is making are bewildering the hopefuls and dimming his chances for a successful presidential run in 2024.

The GOP, base, voters, and power brokers have no choice but to spin the roulette on Donald Trump again in 2024, while praying and hoping he can don his losing streak to come ahead of an aging, and now mostly tested Joseph Biden with a discoverable history of presiding over the country.

Meanwhile, it is dawning on the GOP loyalists that Ron DeSantis is an untrustworthy and fickle politician whose judgment lacks the sturdiness of a man able to use power with foresight and sophistication. Nothing like picking a spiteful fight with Mickey Mouse, and lack of support for Ukraine, to show how unfit he is to become President.

In Benito DeSantis, we have another pro-Putin closet dictator-admirer on our hands.

In reality, all the momentum DeSantis boasted a few months ago has all but vanished.

POLLS COULD BE MISLEADING

If we learned anything the last two Presidential contests is that the polls, especially in 2016 when most predicted Hillary Clinton to win over Donald Trump, could be misleading. People tend not to tell the truth during those phone calls for reasons dealing with the galvanization of our politics. Even online polls have proved evasively imperfect.

Unless the margin of error is in the double digits, Americans have learned to take polling data with a grain of salt. And the latest polls showing Trump gaining a 14-point advantage over DeSantis have exposed the weakness of Ron DeSantis as a challenger.

In reality, all the momentum DeSantis boasted a few months ago has all but vanished, which experts attribute to DeSantis beginning to showcase his extremism on important national issues; many of which do not sit well with the majority of independents and the young voters the GOP is already conspiring to suppress their votes.

Republicans seem to prefer Trump, even with his loss record, than to a Governor who is failing to understand the pulse of the nation correctly.

DESANTIS WEAKNESSES ARE SHOWING

As of April 2023, just less than a year from the primaries season, DeSantis weakness is showing early. Mind you, though, much can happen in one unpredictable year, in which we may witness Donald Trump get indicted some more and even convicted as a felon. Will that reinforce the former President’s popularity, or would Republicans start abandoning him in troves, remains a mystery.

One thing for sure, the very nature of Ron DeSantis’ steering Florida into adopting unpopular laws on the national stage is tarnishing his reputation as a populist who can withstand the rigorous vetting process of the American voter.

DeSantis’ visible liabilities in his decisions to choose his battles carefully are setting him up for a big loss in the general elections, and this is making Republicans nervous about their open support for him. Even if his challenger started an insurrection against the very same government he presided over.
