Intolerance and Lies Led to the Insurrection of 2021

For over five years, our country has experienced the most outrageous intolerance by a sitting President of the United States, and we did nothing about it. It started the day Donald Trump, not yet the President, blasted Senator John McCain for getting captured in Vietnam. That was a watershed moment of things to come, and many Americans tolerated it and some even cheered it. Intolerance and lies led to the insurrection of 2021 all manufactured and promoted by one man named Donald Trump.

How could one man break down our democratic norms and lead this country to what actor Arnold Schwarzenegger called the American Kristallnacht (a must see video below)? For that, one has to ask the GOP, the billionaires who funded Donald Trump, and his cohorts in Congress, and the far-right media still peddling intolerance and lies: Have you had enough funding people willing to destroy American democracy?

Maybe U.S. Congress, from that experience, should introduce new laws to make it illegal to peddle lies on TV. Like the ones Fox News peddled almost on a daily basis when it comes to . Donald Trump. If what led to the Insurrection was not a moment of “Falsely screaming fire in a full theater”, then others would try it again.

For those who don’t, Kristallnacht ended with the Nazis exterminating six million Jews in concentration camps. Deliberately and unapologetically.

HOW DID THE INTOLERANCE OF KRISTALLNACHT ENDED?

For those who know European or WWII history know very well how Kristallnacht started and how it ended. For those who don’t, Kristallnacht ended with the Nazis exterminating six million Jews in concentration camps. Deliberately and unapologetically.

Many of the protesters caught on cameras storming the Capitol wore symbols of that era. One had a sweat shirt that read: “Camp Auschwitz“. This is the kind of intolerance Donald Trump and his supporters are promoting. What do you think is the real purpose of building a wall on the borders with Mexico? As if America hires 6 foot blue-eyed blondes to flip our burgers.

In our case, Trump followers, or the Secessionists, would butcher the Unionists or anyone who disagrees with them. To include those who question QAnon, don’t believe Trump lies, and those with liberal views. It’s another civil war with a different end. That’s what intolerance and lies are leading the country to accept as normal.

Congress has a responsibility to hold the instigators of January 6 Insurrection accountable for their actions. Regardless what feelings you may hurt, or what GOP apologists may reason to avoid this route. If Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and Donald jr. are not prosecuted for their actions, it would only encourage Trump or those following in his footsteps, like Sen. Josh Hawley, to emulate and duplicate Trump by harnessing the power of his followers to incite future violence.

These people could care less about our country. Their self-interests and ambitions come first.
