Most GOP Representatives in Congress who need to raise a ton of money every two years to stay in office are tripping over each other in kissing the NRA ass to land on the A-list of the weapon lobbying organization. This is why this new tradition of wearing lapels of AR-15 assault machine guns is so popular today. Not only does it encourage the purchase of these military-grade weapons by civilians, but it also subliminally encourages a climate of unprecedented gun violence.
We dare the degenerate Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) representing the district of the Covenant school to show up at the funeral of the children wearing an AR-15 lapel. If he ever shows up for the funeral. We dare him.
Incidentally, Ogles, according to an article Josephine Harvey wrote for the HuffPost, was derided for his lack of integrity. Harvey wrote:
If you watch this video, you realize how disconnected Andy Ogles is from reality.
NRA AND MORE …
Not only the NRA holds the GOP by its balls because of its grip on 2nd amendment maniacs, but there are two organizations working hard to make sure assault weapons remain available to everyone who wants them. Including child killers at schools.
Gun Owners of America and National Association for Gun Rights both buy our politicians on the cheap to maintain the status quo. Between these three lobbying groups spending millions in contributions, mostly targeting Republican lawmakers, Americans have zero chance of ever passing sensible gun control laws in this country. We can’t even ban the very same assault weapons killing most of our children in schools.
This in spite of the majority of Americans supporting legislation to control the purchase of assault weapons.
Between 1998 and 2022, according to OpenSecrets, gun rights organizations spent more than $190 million lobbying the legislative branch. As opposed to $28 millions that gun control organizations spent on efforts to lobby Congress. And since our legislators all follow the trail of money like hound dogs, kissing the NRA ass has become their favorite pass time.
We, the people, have no say in how politicians act to serve our interests, which is why Ron DeSantis is going against the will of the people when he passes legislations unsupported by the majority of Americans.
THE SYSTEM IS ROTTEN AT ITS CORE
The fact that our laws allow for the rich and powerful to buy our politicians every election cycle is indicative of a much larger issue, which tells the world that the United States of America is really rotten at its political core. Yes, the laws and the system consider our voting rights to be supreme in nature, but what use is it to our own self-interests when our votes result in voting for legislators who neglect their constituents on matters of extreme importance? Like gun control.
Between gerrymandering and voting rights restrictions, the elites in this country have managed to corrupt the system to serve only the interests of corporate entities and billionaires like Charles Koch, who makes sure that our votes are meaningless.
Our political system is corrupt. We, the people, have no say in how politicians act to serve our interests, which is why Ron DeSantis is going against the will of the people when he passes legislations unsupported by the majority of Americans.
Congress knows that kissing the NRA ass is good business for their re-election campaigns. Whether it’s good for America, all you have to do is ask the parents of Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, the three 9-years old who died at the Covenant school by a weapon meant to kill soldiers in a war.
Our children have become target practice for the NRA.
