Punditry StaffConsider that the dangerous Mohammad bin Salman, whose agents use chainsaws to dismember his innocent enemies, is also the custodian of the Muslim holy site of Mecca. It simply does not, visually and consciously, align with any form of morality, just as it would not align if Jeffrey Dahmer was the Pope in the Vatican. Ladies and gentlemen, Mecca is a source of power the evil killer Mohammad bin Salman should not have control over under any circumstances. How do Muslims let this stand shows the extent of how controlling Saudi money could be to the detriment of our global community.
Yet, here we are in 2022, and the world has to kiss the ass of one of the most dangerous men alive. As the custodian ruling over loads of oil and 1.4 billion Muslims. How did we let a country, whose indigenous population does not exceed five million — the rest are all foreign workers Saudis count as citizens — dictate whom we elect is truly remarkable.
Where did we fail as a country to let this happen?
We better plan for clipping MBS wings. Or we will reach a point of bowing constantly to five million Bedouins a ruthless killer rules over, and one who hates western democracies and civilization.
MECCA’S HISTORIC CONTROL
When you read about this city’s history, previous empires controlled its fate. The Ummayad in Syria, the Abbasid in Iraq, the Mamluk in Egypt, and the Ottoman in Turkey. Post WWI era, and after the collapse of the Ottoman empire, the Hashemites — today’s monarchy in Jordan — took control over Mecca until 1924. That’s when al-Saud wrestled the city from the Hashemites with much help from Great Britain.
In reality, Mecca should be under the control of the Hashemites of Jordan because Saudi Arabia stole it from them. King Abdullah of Jordan, a benevolent king, should be its custodian, not Mohammad bin Salman, a killer.
Whether the world community assists Jordan in regaining its sovereignty over the city, or whether it promotes a Vatican plan where every Muslim country has a say in its affairs, one thing for sure, we cannot let the city remain under the guardianship of a known murderer.
It simply sends the wrong signal to every Muslim trying to moderate their religion to abandon extremism when they all realize that obedience to men of faith is more important than pragmatism and logic. After all we went in Iraq to try and promote democracy in a Muslim country instead of giving Muslims the powers to dictate their own fates. Securing Mecca to be ruled by Muslim countries affords them that opportunity.
Mecca is a source of power dangerous men like Mohammad bin Salman should not have control over. Between ruling over the largest oil supplies and one of the largest religions in the world, the man is playing us as if he was god.
