Hiding behind the secrecy of DOJ investigations, Attorney-General Merrick Garland latest blah blah blah speech regurgitates past positions and comments on the issue of holding the Fuhrer Donald Trump accountable for his attempted coup. Unintelligent Donald Trump is about to outsmart Garland by announcing his candidacy for 2024 in order to scream foul. And Garland’s inability to bring charges against Trump, in spite of Trump’s overwhelming culpable actions, is making the Democrats nervous. Garland, instead, is delivering another blah blah blah speech.

Tal Axelrod and Luke Barr wrote for ABC News:

During a press conference, a visibly animated Garland twice said that “no person” was above the law when pressed specifically about Trump, whom Democrats say incited the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection over his unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud in 2020. Democrats also cite Trump’s larger, months-long campaign to try and reverse his election loss.of a difficult election cycle.ABC News by MSNBC by Tal Axelrod and Luke Barr - July 20, 2022
Does Garland realize Trump was one inch far from declaring martial law? Someone should remind him. Gently.

SHOULD THE PRESIDENT NOT FIRE MERRICK?

How long will it take for Garland to announce charges is anybody’s guess. But one has to assume that his internal clock must be broken. He must not realize that the longer his investigation takes, the shorter the January 6 Committee’s fuse becomes, or the higher the chances Trump may return to the White House.

Garland’s molasses-like investigation is risking to dive us deeper into murkier and murkier waters that can only harm the American voters and our democracy. Mind you, Trump claiming another witch hunt by Merrick Garland will only exasperate an already fragile political environment, especially if Trump announces his run for 2024 before Garland announces his charges.

Just sit back and watch that Trump commercial accusing Garland of investigating him because he announced his 2024 candidacy. Not before, but after he announced. Do you see the optics? Because Garland, apparently, does not.

An Attorney-General cannot be a pure jurist that ignores the political frailty of our democracy, or the culture wars the Republicans are waging across the land. He cannot simply put on those horse blinders while ignoring the poisonous furor Trump intends to wage against him and the Democrats once he announces his candidacy.

The country demands that he stops ignoring the politics of the moment in his pursuit of justice that, when it comes, may provide the fodder for the enemies within to destroy our democracy.

Does Garland realize Trump was one inch far from declaring martial law? Someone should remind him. Gently.

No one in this country is really interested in a 2020 re-run between Biden and Trump.

A BIDEN TRUMP RE-RUN IN 2020

Or, maybe, as we wrote before, Biden knows exactly what he is doing. A slow-acting Garland fits perfectly with his scheme of facing Trump again in 2024, which represents, possibly, his only hope of winning again.

But what if Joe Biden loses to Donald Trump in 2024? This does not seem like a real prospect in Biden’s world. As usual, the President might be basing all his calculations on some old assumptions most of the country has abandoned while he was asleep. Ageing for our dear and kind President seems to invite better times when predictability was a mutually assured and agreed upon compromise politicians took for granted.

Inside that world, this makes Merrick Garland latest blah blah blah sound reasonable. After all, in that world of the eighties, Donald Trump did not exist and only political accommodation between men of honor carried the day.

Yes, we are trying to strengthen the laws Trump attempted to circumvent after his attempted coup, but that does not guarantee Americans justice and pluralism. While Joe Biden thinks that at the age of 82 he deserves another chance, the rest of the country is screaming bloody hell at him menacing our democracy if his appointed AG does not charge the former President with sedition sooner than later.

No one in this country is really interested in a 2020 re-run between Biden and Trump. If you want the lowest voter turn-out in American history, which might guarantee Trump another White House residency, then we should all scream bloody hell at Biden and Garland until they hear us.

No Trump and no Biden in 2024. Capisce?
