No Moral High Grounds In The Gaza War

No Moral High Grounds In The Gaza War

The extremist government in Israel has successfully demonized and dehumanized the Palestinians to the point that Nikki Haley called the war in Gaza as a war between good and evil. If she meant Hamas was evil, we agree. If she meant Israel was good with its present government, we disagree. The problem is that the rhetoric has not differentiated between Hamas and the Palestinian civilians. All Palestinians are thrown in the same barrel of rot. There are no moral high grounds in the Gaza war because both, Hamas and Israel, are killing civilians without batting an eyelash.

In fact, Israel is hoping its demonization of all Arabs would not subject it to the same scrutiny the rest of the world accords the terrorists of Hamas.

Both parties bear responsibility for causing such pain and destruction against innocent women and children. Of the more than 7,000 tons of ordinances Israel dropped on Gaza, which so far have killed close to 5,000 Gazans, to include hundreds of children, many were targeting neighborhoods where civilians lived. That’s what happens when 2.3 million people live in a 140 square mile strip of land. It’s unavoidable.

Only men of peace can bring peace to the region. The world must clip the wings of all extremism in the Middle East, otherwise we should expect more terror and more wars for years to come.

WHAT THE US SAYS ABOUT ISRAEL

The United States is Israel’s biggest ally, without which the country would not be able to survive.

Thanks mainly to the American Jews living in the U.S. whose successes in business have metastasized into a shield for the protection of Israel. It is normal that the American media, most of which is owned by big corporations whose many shareholders are the successful Jewish businessmen, treats Israel with kids’ gloves. The country is able to command the kind of blind-eye permissiveness that very few other countries can command.

If you read the major media outlets in the U.S. today, you would think that Israel has stopped bombing Gaza as the concentration has switched to the few aid trucks entering the city under siege. Like we said, blind-eye permissiveness.

In general, this is good for Israel’s survival. It helps fend the Islamic terrorists and puts everyone on notice that no matter what happens, every U.S. President will close ranks with this small Mediterranean country. However, it is not good for lasting peace.

The ultra extremists in Israel want to eventually annex both Gaza and the West Bank and throw the Palestinians out for Jordan and Egypt to care for them

CROSSING THE LINE

However, when Israel crosses the line by indiscriminately killing innocent civilians to avenge the killing of theirs, there is no mechanism in place to hold the Israeli leadership accountable. We simply shrug our shoulders and hope for the best. And that is a fundamental problem. Real visionaries know that the more violence Israel exacts on Palestinian civilians today, the more restless the Arab street becomes. The same street that keeps bearing terror in response to Israeli excesses.

Why have we not found a solution to this issue by helping advance peace? We believe because the ultra extremists in Israel want to eventually annex both Gaza and the West Bank and throw the Palestinians out for Jordan and Egypt to build them refugee camps. Just like the Turks and the Lebanese took all the Syrians, which Assad of Syria forced out through sheer terror.

The resistance to such ideas are very clear in the rhetoric and actions of both Jordan and Egypt.

If the terrorizing settlers can kill their own prime minster [Yitzhak Rabin], they surely can butcher their Palestinian enemies in Gaza.

ISRAEL NEEDS NEW LEADERSHIP

Yitzhak Rabin, the Israeli Prime Minister an ultranationalist orthodox Jew gunned down during an event in Tel Aviv to celebrate the Oslo Accords, pursued peace vigorously. This did not suit the extremists in Israel. So, they killed him for his peace overtures to the Palestinians.

Therefore, anyone who claims today’s extreme Israeli government is entitled to a free pass as it kills Palestinian civilians needs to know the history of the terror of these extremists. As there is no moral high grounds Hamas can stand upon with its terror, the same goes for the fanatics leading Israel today. If the terrorizing settlers can kill their own prime minster, they surely can butcher their Palestinian enemies in Gaza.

Israel needs a new leadership along the mindset of Yitzhak Rabin. Because, we have irrefutable evidence today that the policies of the extremists have not made Israel safer. This war in Gaza did not appear out of the blue. If you follow what they have been doing in the West Bank for many years, you would know that the cause of their terror against the Palestinians over the years caused the effect of the Gaza war.

Only men of peace can bring peace to the region. The world must clip the wings of all extremism in the Middle East, otherwise we should expect more terror and more wars for years to come.

You don’t think Iran is planning the next one!
