Punditry StaffThe head of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill has blessed the war against Ukraine, which has shocked the Ukrainian religious order. Who would have thought that a Patriarch and head of the Orthodox Church could also be a warmonger. Never in the modern history of the Catholic Church has the Pope blessed a war. Patriarch Kirill is a war criminal and the United States must throw his lot along Putin to bring him to the International Criminal Court for blessing Putin’s war on the Ukraine.
There is a rot festering in the Russian Orthodoxy that can no longer be ignored. Most other religious leaders would not voice such sentiments publicly, but I can assure you many of them would like to see Kirill hang for his crimes against other Christians. Let him explain to the world how Jesus ordered him to bless the killing of other Christians.
Some even went as far as saying Kirill is serving the devil.

La Croix (The Cross) is a Catholic daily newsletter, which reported recently that 400 Ukrainian priests have signed an online petition to denounce Patriarch Kirill for blessing the killings of his fellow Christians in Ukraine. This is their chief spiritual leader they are denouncing. It is simply grotesque to think that Kirill, whose loyalty to Vladimir Putin is blind, has placed that loyalty ahead of innocent Christian women and children.
Some even went as far as saying Kirill is serving the devil.
BBC reported on Father Pluzhnik, a Russian speaker and a follower of the Moscow Patriarchate all of his adult life. Pluzhnik is very angry over Kirill echoing Putin’s propaganda by claiming that Russia must liberate the oppressed Orthodox living in Eastern Ukraine.
Pulzhnik told BBC:
One cannot simply believe that Kirill, the head of the Russian Orthodoxy, is as ignorant as a Russian peasant could be. He cannot be so naive as to believe the Putin propaganda. Kirill knows exactly what he is doing.
Patriarch Kirill has a long history of condoning the mass murder of civilians.
ADD HIS NAME TO THE LIST OF WAR CRIMINALS
During Lent early April, Kirill delivered a dangerous speech in which he asserted that Ukraine is not really an independent country. In his speech, he did not refer to “Ukrainians” as people, but rather called them “Holly Russians”. Kirill is a miniature Putin armed with the words of God. How dangerous is that?
He could also call the Finnish people “Holly Russians” next month too.
I realize that this is not an easy or plausible decision to indict him. Who would dare, after all, to call for his indictment at the International Criminal Court? Not our Catholic President. The optics are simply unbearable.
Only the Ukrainian Orthodox Church can petition the ICC to indict Patriarch Kirill for his criminality. Remember that Kirill, who became Patriarch in 2009 also blessed Putin’s war on the Syrian civilians. His blessing resulted in the death of 250,000 innocent people many of whom were also women and children.
Patriarch Kirill has a long history of condoning the mass murder of civilians. It is time to denounce him internationally. Let us make an example of him. Let us force him to tell the world how Jesus wanted him to bless a war against Christians for no reason other than to tow the Putin line for his own power hunger.
Of late, he has pretty much outsourced the whole Russian Orthodox Church to serve a mass killer of women and children.
Patriarch Kirill is a war criminal. As much as Putin is. The world needs to denounce and indict him as well.
