Eleven Republicans voted with the Democrats indicating that Congress today boasts 5% of its GOP legislators to be sane. Bona Fide sane. At Punditry, and with this vote, we say Sayonara to the mentally deranged Marjorie Taylor ganGreene. May you roam the hallways of Congress at night looking to infest other Republicans with your high IQ theories. If not already sold, sealed, and delivered by the equally mental case Donald Trump himself.
The leaderless GOP in Congress just could not bring itself to censure, on its own, someone who claimed Jewish lasers from space are starting the fires in California. Had she said the white trailer trash she frequented did it, she would have been forcefully removed a long time ago. Go GOP.
Going forward, we have a ghost in Congress with nothing to do, and who will probably be haunting the Catholics, the Jews, and the Muslims in the hallways of Congress as she roams it with an axe to grind. Sayonara to the mentally deranged in Congress.

It is never enough, during these strange times, to praise once in a while those who stand on the right side of history. We must do it repeatedly and without any hesitation. In my book, Representative Liz Cheney is a hero. Instead of falling for the cultism of Donald Trump the way Manson followers fell for Charles, she stayed steady and honorable. She chose her country when most of her colleagues chose to kiss the ring of a mentally challenged former President the country had no business electing no matter the underlying seething anger.
We are all angry about the lack of accountability and corruption in Congress, but we don’t show that anger by committing self-suicide. What did Trump bring his supporters but the history of enabling the Insurrection of 2021? Are they better off economically with Trump neglecting to control COVID?
We salute the 11 sane Republicans who voted their conscious, and hold the other 209 responsible for the turmoil breaking us apart. This democracy of ours is both strong and fragile at the same time, and when we witness 209 GOPers vote to uphold racist conspiracy theories spreading in the House itself, we must diligently call them out as repeatedly as we call out the brave among them.

Besides proposing bills, committee assignments is where all the action is. This is where you get to leave your mark, impose your will, and drive home the messages your voters ask of you. So, when Ms. AR-15 is firing her gun in the range at the Capitol, Congressional Committees would be meeting to discuss corporate business, and sometimes the people’s business.
Yes, Congress does have a shooting range in the basement of the Capitol. Believe it or not. A detail that most Americans don’t know about.
It is highly probable, as history showed us with Steve King, that when a Representative loses their seat at the table in Congressional Committee hearings and debates, they also lose their constituents. This theory is yet to be tested by someone Trump publicly supported, which, if in two years fails to materialize, might just be the sign that Donald Trump’s kingmaker status is all hype and inflation.
