Student Debt Will Make or Break the Democrats

Student Debt Will Make or Break the Democrats

It’s no secret across the country that student debt has reached fever pitch levels as the U.S. Government realizes it must resolve this problem weighing heavily on our society. Because of cruelty and greed, the U.S. Government, in cohort with private universities, both have mortgaged the future of our children. Today, there is no will in Washington to tackle the debt of $1.8T impacting some 45 million voters. Forget the Republicans because those old white racist men are simply heartless, which means student debt will make or break the Democrats in the coming years of elections.

And even though the Democrats are willing to consider cancellation of debt, the Biden band-aid solution of cancelling student debt today through the powers of an Executive Order will only help present and past students. But what about the future of higher education? Are we to live with this legacy of over taxation and greed forever? It is simply not sustainable in the long-run. To mortgage the lives of our youth is impacting the future of the whole country.

The Millennials will never forgive this baby boomers generation of politicians in Washington and their history books will target them as the worst compared to any other generation.

IMPACT ON MILLENNIALS

Many young people are marrying late, and fewer are buying homes. When Millennials reach retirement age, if student debt dilemma in the long-run is not resolved, they would die before meeting their grandchildren. The very joy President Biden derives from holding his grandchildren will become a rare luxury to future generations. Yet, our politicians are asleep while they criticize the birth rate crash our country is experiencing.

Since most who suffer from the burden of student debt are not the white elites running this country, it is safe to assume that the policy of expensive higher education in America is an intentional scam to harm the minorities and the middle class. This explains the reasons why, before Biden, no serious politician talked about its tragic results.

The Millennials will never forgive this baby boomers generation of politicians in Washington and their history books will target them as the worst compared to any other generation. Just idling by while all the data show us clearly how student debt is harming the very core of our youth and crashing their birth rates, as well as their dreams. They are proof that today’s unhinged greed might literally turn this country into an unstable revolutionary cauldron ready for structural societal changes where capitalism, just like Europe, goes under the microscope to derail its ugly greed through tough laws and regulations.

At the famous Sorbonne University in Paris, equivalent to Harvard or Princeton, tuition is free. The same goes for most of the universities in Europe. Their governments do not burden their children like we do ours.

TRUMP CAN, BUT BIDEN CAN’T?

In 2017, the Trump Administration awarded the very rich immense tax breaks, which benefited them to the tune of $1.9T. If the rich are able to command government welfare, which is really called socialism, why is the Biden Administration so hesitant in granting the same break to the middle class numbering 45 million voters?

Is it because Joe Biden listens more to private banks, which might lose some $40B a year in interest revenues, than to voters? Or, is it because this band-aid solution of possibly canceling past student debt does not address the continuing saga of the cost of higher education in this country? Where we are, and where we are going is not a good place for our country to be.

For example, did you know that at McGill University in Canada, one of the top private universities in North America, charges less about $5,000 total a year (excluding room and board) for a Business Administration degree? Guess how much a similar university, like George Washington in Washington D.C., or Rice University in Houston charges? Upwards of $45,000 a year.

If Trump can give the very rich, those who need it the least, $1.9T in socialist tax breaks, Biden can certainly provide relief to all students in the form of $1.8T debt cancellation.

NO VOTE FOR DEMOCRATS UNTIL BIDEN CANCELS STUDENT DEBT

I, for one, will not be voting for any Democrats in 2022 and beyond if Biden does not cancel student debt BEFORE the mid-term elections. If Trump can give the very rich, those who need it the least, $1.9T in socialist tax breaks, Biden can certainly provide relief to all students in the form of $1.8T debt cancellation.

I do believe millions of students agree with this logic. They are tired waiting for relief from a predatory system concocted by the cruelest politicians in America. Either Biden acts, or the Democrats will pay the ultimate price in 2022 and 2024 when their traditional voters don’t show up. Without a doubt, the collective reaction of students will cause everyone to stand up and pay attention.

Furthermore, the call by Rep. Ayanna Pressley to delay the payments until after the 2022 mid-terms is disingenuous. She has been championing total student debt cancellation and should remain on target with her calls. Thank you Rep. Pressley for your support.

Mr. President, you have the powers to re-build a broken Millennial era with the stroke of a pen. Your delay to act is simply unacceptable. Please, sign the damn Executive Order, and if the Republicans complain, fire back about the $1.9T Trump gave them in tax breaks.

Let today’s students hold their grandchildren years from now, just as you hold yours today.
