Punditry StaffNo white person would think twice about ringing the bell of some stranger’s home to seek refuge, to ask for directions, or to deliver a package. But ask a black family about what they think of the same innocuous action their children might take, and you can see the fear in their eyes. The Carte Blanche racism that Trump unleashed, in addition to irrational “stand your ground” laws and lax gun laws, has permitted an old white racist man to fire his gun at Ralph Yarl. Without the xenophobic law and the easy availability of guns, the racists in this country would ill-afford to kill at will.
All three components, when combined, create the perfect conditions of fear black people experience when contemplating their daily routine in this country.
Trump made it easier for the racists to crawl out of their basements, easy access to guns made it difficult for black families to trust even their own neighbors, and laws intended to help anyone to carry weapons and shoot as if in a western movie all contributed to endangering the lives of innocent black men and children in this country. All contributed to the tragedy that befell the talented Ralph Yarl whose life ahead of him shone like a bright star.
Of course, if you ask Donald Trump, who has a reputation of never lying, he would tell you he “does not have one racist bone in his body”.
We need Trump to succumb to a heart attack, and Ron DeSantis to lose so big in an election that no one would ever mention his name again.
A RECORDING FROM HELL
Scene two from the same movie that Trump is championing appear a quadruple of pro-trump racists to tickle our imagination. In the Oklahoma yonder country of ignorance, a story broke out last week about four law enforcement officials in McCurtain County who were recorded discussing hiring a hit man to kill a reporter and lamenting the fact that black people have more rights than the white folks because they could no longer lynch them.
In 2023 America, dear readers.
This is but a sample of the people Trump rallies behind his presidency. The worst of the worst in a country that remains stuck in a slave-owning mentality. These four hideous officials in Oklahoma and the racist in Kansas City who shot Yarl represent the kind of knowledge to articulate Punditry’s raison d’être.
Unfortunately, not lagging too far behind is another dangerous racist figure in the personae of Ron DeSantis, who also might run for p[resident. The two front-runners in the GOP are both known racists, and yet they are too willing to stand on a podium and deny it to the delight of the millions of their white supremacist supporters.
It is going to take at least one generation to bury these old white bastards. And even their next of kin might take their place, their numbers are dwindling as the more liberal Millennials and Generation Z become the largest voting blocks to replace today’s baby boomers.
In other words, hope is on the way and a better future awaits all Americans. But before it truly happens, we need Trump to succumb to a heart attack, and Ron DeSantis to lose so big in an election that no one would ever mention his name again.
