No one doubts Donald Trump’s capacity to steal the show on a large scale, except Ron DeSantis, who remains clueless. And although Trump had no control over the federal indictment’s timing, very few should doubt how Trump is milking this moment to his full advantage, just as we witness, simultaneously, the DeSantis campaign fizzling out quickly before our eyes. And even when DeSantis is out campaigning, the image of the Fox News top stories on June 12, 2023, shows just how little coverage DeSantis is mastering from his own backers as Trump takes over the airwaves and the pixels.

It makes one wonder how in the world did DeSantis figure he could get ahead of Trump. What strategy did he concoct to steam past the personality of a charismatic media hog like the U.S. has never witnessed in its modern history. In fact, it should make his donors wonder about the durability of DeSantis in the real world of politics when he forced his way into the race while all signs indicated he should wait out Donald Trump.

This country is too great for someone like DeSantis, who seems to lose support the more he campaigns, mostly because of his disingenuity.

ABOUT THE TRIAL

Trump will not go down without a fight, which means one should expect he would battle it out with every step of the court process, using a litany of motions and tactics aimed at delaying his own trial. Many legal experts believe it may not happen until after the elections in 2024. If true, we believe Ron DeSantis should fold his tent and go back home to Florida because Trump is going to eat his lunch with wall-to-wall media coverage for the next 20 months.

Ron DeSantis, as Governor Gavin Newsom said, is a small, pathetic man. And everything DeSantis has done so far with his petty culture wars prove Newsom’s statement to be accurate. This country is too great for someone like DeSantis, who seems to lose support the more he campaigns, mostly because of his disingenuity. And while Trump presents his own set of challenges, the U.S. government attention span is totally focused on making sure he fails with his re-election bid.

DeSantis, on the other hand, is tearing this country apart but without the baggage to hold him accountable for his actions, which makes him, in our opinion, infinitely more dangerous than Donald Trump.

Let his campaign fizzle out. Go home Governor. You don’t belong anywhere near the White House.
