Punditry StaffAnyone who believes that Kevin McCarthy is the real Speaker of the House has not been paying attention to the hijacking of that position by the far-right legislators of the Freedom Caucus. By holding out their votes, the caucus has captured more powers than anyone can imagine; and with its extreme MAGA agenda, the fanatical Freedom Caucus has stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2023 just as Donald Trump stormed the Capitol on January 6, 2021. They represent the new insurrectionists from within ready not only to hijack Congress but also to turn it into a shadow FBI institution investigating instead of legislating.
Folks, this is insurrection 2.0 and the terrorists who have already stormed it are members of the Freedom Caucus.
So, grab a seat and watch how dysfunctional politicians work in this country.
LOOK FOR INVESTIGATIONS, NOT LEGISLATION
As part of the deal the hapless Kevin McCarthy struck withe the Freedom Caucus to earn their votes were committee chairmanship. With the power of the gavel and the choices to investigate any matter, we will witness, in the next two years, members of the Freedom Caucus turn the country into one big court room as they begin to investigate the Democrats in retaliation for January 6.
It’s tit for tat. It has nothing to do with justice, or the truth, nor does it have anything to do with legislating instead of investigating. Even the FBI, the Freedom Caucus plainly made it its target, will not escape their charlatanism.
Some might disagree with this Blog citing enough reasons for Congress to keep checks and balances over our national security apparatuses. Especially when the FBI missed the January 6 insurrection. The real reason, however, for the future Freedom Caucus investigations is because their leader Donald Trump did not get along with the FBI. This is their moment of revenge, not real checks and balances.
So, grab a seat and watch how dysfunctional politicians work in this country. What is about to happen in the next two years will be as historic as what happened after Trump lost the elections. The same people trying to weaken the government for their own White Supremacist political agenda.
