The GOP Buried Democracy Like a Discarded Carcass 2

There is no other way to dice, dissect, or dichotomize the latest freaky move by the Republican Party except to call it for what it is. The GOP buried democracy like a discarded carcass when it forced Rep. Liz Cheney out of her leadership role in the Party for simply telling the truth.

It is important for any educated voter to ask a simple question: What comes next with the GOP when it can no longer handle the truth and when it spreads lies upon lies for the political convenience of their cult leader? Are we witnessing the rise of American fascism as Donald Trump always wished it? Or is this just a temporary nightmare we all will rebound from when millions of Trump followers realize the folly of their mirage.

Either way, when we look at what is happening, one simple conclusion comes to mind. Today, the American people is a witness to one of the ugliest episodes of American history because one major political organization has gone bonkers by trashing democracy right under our nose.

How about Congress passes the Anti-Fascism Act to reinforce our allegiance to democratic principles? If so, I dare Senators Mitch McConnell or Joe Manchin to vote against the law.

They [the Trump Republicans] will back democracy only if it voted them back into office each and every time. Otherwise, let fascist laws and rules be their roadmap to a singular rule.

THE BETRAYAL HAS RELIGIOUS UNDERTONES

The GOP’s betrayal of our democracy is no accident. It has religious undertones because the white supremacist Protestants Donald Trump is leading are angry at the politicians the people selected to lead the Executive and the Legislative branches of our government where laws and policies are set.

They are partially angry because the Biden Administration is ultra-liberal; but most importantly because no one, in a position of real power, is a white supremacist Protestant. Their anger is a remarkable departure from the religious neutrality this nation has embraced to unite the multi-diverse immigrants behind one America. In fact. we all remember recently when Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene initiated the “Anglo-Saxon Protestant” caucus specifically to celebrate her white supremacist Protestantism with Matt Gaetz, an alleged sex trafficker of minors, by her side.

This prompted President Bush to weigh-in heavily against such demented ideas.

The crazies among this Trump lot are no longer hiding what their long-term goals are. Simply put, they intend to regain power by any means possible — Voter suppression laws in Georgia, Florida, and Texas — and maintain it permanently at all costs. They will only back democracy if it voted them back into office each and every time. Otherwise, let fascist laws and rules be their roadmap to a singular rule.

To be exact, the majority of Republicans within the GOP are turning the Party into a bona fide cult with their own Charles Manson sinking it into oblivionn.

TRUMP POPULARITY AMONG GOP IS TANKING

Over the last few months, voters had a chance to compare President Biden’s response to COVID-19 as opposed to his counterpart in 2020. Most, I would imagine, came away feeling that normalcy is within reach, something the previous one could never provide or muster. So when a new poll showed that for the first time the GOP is more popular than Trump himself, it should have given pause to Kevin McCarthy rushing the ouster of Liz Cheney from the Party’s leadership. To be exact, the majority of Republicans within the GOP are turning the Party into a bona fide cult with their own Charles Manson sinking it into oblivion.

There are some encouraging signs that the true bearers of the GOP’s message and agenda are not going to stay quiet. After her 16 minutes long ouster ordeal, Liz Cheney declared with vigor an determinations that:

We cannot let the former President drag us backward and make us complicit in his efforts to unravel our democracy. Down that path lies our destruction, and potentially the destruction of our country.Rep. Liz Cheney - May 12, 2021

Furthermore, Senator Mitt Romney made a remark in support of Liz Cheney that marginalized Kevin McCarthy without mentioning his name. In a Tweet, he said:

Expelling Liz Cheney from leadership won’t gain the GOP one additional voter, but it will cost us quite a few,Senator Mitt Romney - May 10, 2021

Yet, here we are. Deep into a cult movement manhandled by an angry white supremacist unable to come to grip with reality, or unwilling to accept defeat in a fair election.

For his sake, the GOP buried democracy like a discarded carcass. Applause, applause the cowardice of the GOP lawmakers.
