Aristophanes, also known as the Prince of the Old Comedy, was a Greek playwright who declared in his play The Knights what remains to be true today “To win the people, always cook them some savory that pleases them.” In that spirit, who is cooking the people today the savory, which is bewitching them into action, or in this instance, to vote for a politician without any skepticism over their wars on those who are unwilling to dig deep into their purpose and goals? Ever since this country elected the con man Donald Trump, we have become live witnesses to the acceleration of the spoon-feeding of the American idiotic voter.

Everything goes. Policies based on hiding the truth, laws based on masking the truth, and culture wars based on spreading lies and misrepresentations to justify both. How long before the idiots voting for Trump or DeSantis realize where this country is headed if we continue to marginalize people based on race, gender, and sometimes religion? Unfortunately, it may never happen with a class of baby boomers who see the societal changes as a threat to their traditions and institutionalized beliefs.

There is a large class of voters in rural America who believes everything their look-alike running-for-office politician tells them.

THE OLD CULTURE OF REJECTION

Older white men, who are dying rapidly as they approach the zenith of their existence, are empowering the new culture wars as they resist abolishing systemic racism and the society-at-large approving of the children and grandchildren they refused to embrace.

So, using their idiocy to cook them some savory turns evil politicians on. That the culture wars Benito DeSantis is sparking could lead us to a paradigm political shift seems not to concern them, and this is why we call them idiots. They are clueless about how far an evil and a clever politician can use their grievances as a vehicle to land us on another planet, with a wildly different political system.

There is a large class of voters in rural America who believes everything their look-alike running-for-office politician tells them. Not realizing that their lies exist only for their own self-aggrandizement and power. Why would Ron DeSantis engage in culture wars is because he knows that old baby boomer base disapproves of the society righting the wrongs of the past.

HOLDING ON TO RACISM FOR DEAR LIFE

These old white folks are holding on to racism and bigotry until their last days on this earth. Along the way, though, DeSantis will use these culture wars not only to gain their votes, but also to move the needle towards a more conservative America demanding the rights of everyone in the service of the few. The very definition of fascism.

We must not, as January 6 proved the skeptics right, that people like Trump and DeSantis would be willing to do away with our democracy if the right set of parameters existed to assist them with their destructive ways. Do you really think either man would object to a life in the White House that only ends with their death?
