Punditry StaffDonald Trump had over two weeks of Executive powers to pardon all the insurrectionists of January 6. Instead, Trump abandoned his supporters, and now that he needs them again, they are the ones abandoning him. On his Truth platform, Trump asked his supporters to protest his imminent arrest, probably taking place this week. Although there have been some reaction in support of his calls, the main actors fighting tooth and nail the U.S. Government to defend against their January 6 storming of the Capitol are mostly staying home.
One in particular, Ali Alexander, took a jab at Trump when he said online:
“No billionaire is covering our bills.” We wonder what he meant by that.
Maybe Steve Bannon would show up. Just before he lands in jail.
TRUMP SUPPORTERS ARE GETTING SMARTER
Everyone under the sun knows that Donald Trump is all about Donald Trump. In his universe, loyalty is a one-way street he abuses maximally to gain a constant edge. So, when some of his supporters, who needed a blanket pardon for their January 6 Capitol breach, heard about his recent call for protests, they all suddenly grew some brains.
Why should any of them protest to face justice again? What has the Führer done for them lately to earn their loyalties? Some, it seems, are getting smarter. They are backing away from fighting the U.S. Government on behalf of someone who did not fight for them, and the above message by one of his ardent supporter is proof evidence that when Trump abandoned his supporters, they are now abandoning him.
They are tired of fighting the U.S. Government while paying a dear price for their fight.
To us, this seems to indicate that lessons have been learned.

Given how he [Trump] abandoned his supporters, the likelihood the dumb Trumpists would respond is high, but the smarter ones are staying home mostly.
THE LIST OF INDICTMENTS KEEPS GROWING
Last week, NPR published a detailed list of all indictments and acquittals by the federal and DC governments so far.
- Number of people charged, federal: 992
- Number of people charged, D.C.: 24
- Number of people who have pleaded guilty: 540
- Number of individuals who have had jury or bench trials: 58
- The number with mixed verdicts: 22
- The number convicted on all charges: 35
- The number acquitted on all charges: 1
- Number of people sentenced: 435
- The percentage of people sentenced who have received prison time: 57
- The median sentence for those who received prison time, in days: 60
- The number of cases dismissed: 5 federal; 8 D.C. Superior Court
And the FBI is still looking for more people to identify in order to prosecute. No better incentive than paying through the nose to defend oneself against a US Government pursuit to deter future insurrectionists.
Meanwhile, Trump wants a repeat of January 6 for his own personal protection. Given how he abandoned his supporters, the likelihood the dumb Trumpists would respond is high, but the smarter ones are staying home mostly.
Or, are rotting in jail.
