In past Israeli incursions into Arab lands, Israel has always been careful to protect Arab and Muslim civilian lives as much as possible. But this latest attack by Hamas has enraged the people of Israel and their politicians to the point that the Israeli self-imposed humanitarian restraint might just fly out the window when the Israeli army invades Gaza. The likelihood that there would be a total blackout on news emanating from Gaza to give Israel a free rein are highly likely. What happens in Gaza may stay in Gaza would dictate the order of the day, and the world may never know the extent of Israeli destruction.

That being said, we believe cooler heads would prevail. We believe the Biden Administration would provide the Netanyahu war cabinet with some soul-evoking reminders of what it might mean to destroy Gaza with its civilian population to the 400 million Arabs surrounding Israel.

At this junction in time, we hope western intelligence is precise enough to execute a successful operation to extract the innocent people Hamas kidnapped while causing as little civilian casualties in Gaza as possible. It seems, however, that the siege on Gaza will not abet until Hamas release all the hostages.

Thank God, Biden is our President today because Trump would have developed a policy that would enrich him the most. Think, extortion.

MULTI-FRONT WAR

Hezbollah, another terrorist organization whose tentacles of terror control the Lebanese government, has already declared it might open a northern front against Israel if Israeli invasion of Gaza becomes a humanitarian crisis of gargantuan proportions.

The same goes for the West Bank, where over 2.7 million Palestinian Arabs share lands with about 700,000 Israeli settlers. If the Palestinians rise in the West Bank, massacres would follow, and Israel would have to protect the settlers using its armed forces.

Add to this keg of powder all the misinformation and disinformation campaigns both sides are already executing, and that keg would seem to have a very short lit fuse.

There are no easy answers for the US to extract the American hostages held in Gaza, and the same goes for Israel if the alt-right decides its war is one of revenge and retribution, no matter the cost. If the Israeli war cabinet adopts the dictum that what happens in Gaza may stay in Gaza, all bets are off about what might transpire next. Especially, if the US Navy joins the fight openly in support of an unrestrained Israel, which we believe the Biden Administration would be unwilling to carry out.

Thank God, Biden is our President today because Trump would have developed a policy that would enrich him the most. Remember the perfect phone call with President Zelensky? Think, extortion.

Today, everyone is paying the price for kowtowing to the extremists in Israel and neglecting the peaceful Palestinians’ aspirations for freedom and independence.

THE RECKLESS ARE RUNNING THE ASYLUM

The Prime Minster of Israel is an angry man today because he knows his tenure might come to an end because of the failure of his intelligence apparatus. Expanding his government to include opposition leaders was the right move because angry white men, as we know in the U.S., have a way of destroying what they built when they don’t get their way. If they so chose.

At this juncture in time, we have three hopes. First, that all hostages return safely back home to their families. Second, we hope that the invasion into Gaza does not turn into such a humanitarian crisis that the world could not afford to simply stand by. And last, our hope that this war does not expand with other violent groups or countries joining to cause more death and destruction.

Donald Trump, as President, abandoned the idea of a two-state solution prior US Presidents pursued with conviction. Today, everyone is paying the price for kowtowing to the extremists in Israel and neglecting the peaceful Palestinians’ aspirations for freedom and independence.

If such could exist going forward seems implausible given the fanatics on both sides. From where we stand, it seems that the reckless and the crazies are the ones running the asylum today.
