Where is my Predator drone?

Where is my Predator drone?

Do Unto Others..
Assad is Encircling Israel with Missiles and Angry Mobs
When Squeezed, Assad Yields Acid
[singlepic id=94 w=320 h=240 float=left] Rumors are circulating that a new summit in the Middle East will be held shortly between Assad, Ahmadinajead, Erdogan, Meshaal of Hamas, and Nasrallah of Hezbollah. Possibly in Istanbul.

This Polygon of the Misfortunate was a quad when Obama came to power. After some par excellence US diplomacy injected by Obama’s inclination to apologize to America’s enemies, we are up to a polygon. Like software upgrading from one version to another, in the Middle East, terrorists upgrade by adding one nation or one organization at a time. That’s what happens when the teacher takes a leave of absence and expects the children to behave in her absence. Not only that, but because of her absence, the bullies keep picking on this smart nerd in the class named Israel.

I had a dream the other day that I visited the CIA headquarters at Langley to borrow a Drone for a weekend.  Upon arrival, a stoic gentleman accompanied me to their Drone store and through a window, one is able to designate the Drone one wants to borrow. I opted for the MQ-1 Predator.

The gentleman from the CIA told me that they will be sending it to my address promptly, fully armed with two Hellfire missiles. Because of bureaucratic red tape, he explained, he was unable to actually wrap it up immediately. He added before I exited the building: “You will get it in a Netflix envelope this weekend”.

Long and behold, I received it on Friday in a Netflix envelope. I stowed it away in a safe place until the chance presented herself to test it live over the weekend.

Because of my unsurpassed planning, the Polygon of the Misfortunate met in Istanbul on Saturday, late in the afternoon. The media reported that they chose the day of Shabbat because Israelis would be on the beach that day and their Drones parked in their garages. What a surprise they are about to get!! From a Syrian and not an Israeli.

So I rushed to my office looking for the Netflix envelope to deploy my Drone to Istanbul. On the way to get it, I tripped over a chair and fell on my head. I was awakened by someone slapping me on the cheek. Later, I learned that I passed out for two days. It was Monday already. What a fool, I utterly missed sending my Drone to Istanbul and since this is Monday, I will have to return it promptly.

Many of us wish they could make this dream a reality. But the truth is that, unlike the Polygon that may be about to meet, we live in societies that respect the laws be it ours or theirs, be it local or international.

This makes our struggle for a better Middle East worth the time and the patience necessary to succeed.

In the Middle East, no one comes to power unless there is support from the violent ruling families who wish to see their interests continue. It’s like the Mafia in the US. The only time they have no say is what happened when the US liberated Iraq. That’s the reason Assad and Iran attacked the US there. Gaza was an opportunity to extend Assad’s reach and to replace his assets in Iraq. You take out Assad, you strip Iran from an important Arab card it needs to propel itself as an Arab ally. You also take out another violent family and the less violent regimes, the better chances of co-existence and the less chance for extremist religious zealots… Farid
